This watercolour painting of the fox is the third painting in the Sovereign Series, exploring the power, beauty and majesty of our native wildlife.
Two years ago, we spent a few days camping in the middle of nowhere in the north of Scotland above a beautiful waterfall. Each day, we walked out to explore the surrounding area and one day we were graced with this sight - a fox upwind of us, unaware of our presence, playing and pouncing in the grasses.
There was just him, us and the cuckoo calling. It was pure magic!
In this painting, I wanted to capture the energy, movement and elemental beauty of the fox in its native habitat.
