"Threshold"

Many years ago, my husband rescued a baby otter after finding it lying stunned on a busy main road. He waited for some time to see if the mother would come and eventually called a local wildlife rescue centre who advised him to get it off the road and to safety. A few hours later we were able to take it to a local representative of the International Otter Survival organisation. Here, it would eventually be rehabilitated and returned to the wild.

The few precious hours that we had with the baby otter remain imprinted on my heart. It was a most tender and exquisite experience, and I felt truly humbled by it.
For the last few years, since starting my art journey, I have wanted to produce a painting that speaks to the essence of Otter. This is the closest that I have come to doing this. I do hope you like it.
